Unified Content Management

The content management system enables unified management, distribution, and control of both real-time and offline content, including the centralized ingestion of video content sources, unified management of multi-screen content metadata, and the implementation of workflow‑based processes for content review and distribution.

Unified Authentication, Authorization, and Billing

The authentication, authorization, and billing system primarily handles functions such as service authentication, access control, and data‑interface management, meeting the authentication, authorization, and billing requirements across all services, all terminals, and multiple user domains.

Unified Session Management

It is responsible for managing the session lifecycle of on-demand services and scheduling video server resources. It interfaces with video servers from different vendors and complies with protocol standards such as NGOD, NGB, and HLS.

Multi-screen sharing

The multi-screen sharing system serves as a personalized information hub for users, enabling seamless cross-device roaming. It supports cloud-based storage of user data, personalized cloud‑based settings, favorites, bookmarks, usage history, and resume‑play management. After engaging with a service on any device, users can not only continue their experience on that same screen but also seamlessly pick up where they left off on other devices—saving content on one screen and enjoying it across multiple screens.

It also exposes its streaming capabilities to third parties, such as educational broadcasting, traffic‑condition monitoring, and security surveillance. VSS supports the ingestion, caching, and delivery of video streams in multiple encoding formats, and is a state-of-the-art video server that delivers high availability (with stream delivery within 100 milliseconds), high reliability (via N+1 cluster deployment, multi‑tier caching, and a cache hit rate of up to 80%), and exceptional performance (handling 8,000 concurrent streams per server).

Content Delivery Network (CDN) provides capabilities for content ingestion, storage, distribution, caching, and management. It can deliver and cache popular content at edge caching nodes, enabling efficient user access while reducing the load on the backbone network. Edge nodes achieve local streaming hit rates as high as 80%–90%, with individual streaming units capable of handling up to 4,500 concurrent standard-definition streams. Additionally, the CDN supports both DVB and IP video content, seamlessly integrating with a wide range of devices, including set-top boxes, smartphones, tablets, PCs, and internet‑connected media players.
